The Elderly Residence, located on the outskirts of Barcelona, aims to
solve the transition from an urban area to the Collserola Park. The
building shows like an organic volume adapted to the topography, the
landscape and the pre-existences. The overhangs reinforce the concept of
the ground and the vegetation passing under the building. The
pre-existing stone arches and retaining walls determine the main
entrance to the new building and also its height.

These listed elements are one of the most important features in the
project. The level on top of the preserved wall is the boundary between
two different parts of the building, one leaning into the other. The
stone lower volume comprises ground floor and mezzanine, and hosts main
entrances and amenities. The white overhanging volume contains the two
bedroom floors, divided by curved corridors.

A small listed old house in the plot has been also included in the
project. It has been completely refurbished, and houses four rooms for
non-handicapped customers. These extra quality rooms have even an
independent entrance.
